MOVEMENT
INTERSECTION
AXIS SYLLABUS · MARTIAL ARTS · IMPROVISATION · MEDITATION
QI GONG · CHOREOGRAPHIC WORK · CONTACT IMPROVISATION
All the movement practices have a fundamental point of “intersection”:
the human being, one of the many instruments of the beautiful symphony of life.

There is no one practice that is the best.
It is contextual depending on your needs and your interests within the training.
Once we know what we are doing and why we are doing it, we will be able to go deeper into our research depending on our personal tastes, needs, and current life situation.
Different practices imply different approaches, different pedagogical strategies and they have different effects on body-mind unity.
This will be the aim of our exploration.
â–¹ Why do we practice what we practice?
â–¹ What’s the difference between an analytic approach to biomechanics in dancing compared with the traditional way of learning in traditional martial arts?
â–¹ Are these approaches connected with the instantaneousness of improvisation?
â–¹ Can we apply principles coming from Solo Work in a duet or trio of Contact Improvisation?

JULY 2022 - TUSCANY
Arrival on the 22nd of July - Departure on the 1st of August
8 full days of study, one day "off" to join the river, the town, and the nature
We strongly feel the need to meet and practice movement face to face again!
We want to feel the bodies, smell nature, improve, and research together.

This year, Movement Intersection is going to be 10 days long!
We want to have enough time to land, consolidate a group practice, and have a little journey together.

We will learn meditation basics in different forms, we will practice the profound “5 Animals Qi Gong”, there will be a daily class of Axis Syllabus, where fundamental information about anatomy, biomechanics, and efficient movement strategies will be given together with choreographic work, and we’ll also dig into Improvisation and Instant composition work, with live music!
